How Pinfolio calculates a fair value
It reads up to ten years of the company's SEC filings and first checks how steady its numbers are, because that decides which method can be trusted.
Steady cash flow gets a discounted cash flow model. Steady earnings get a discounted earnings model. Cyclical or barely profitable companies are valued on their own average P/E or P/S. Banks and insurers on earnings and book value.
You get a base case with a low and a high around it, and every step can be opened in the app. When no method is reliable, it says so instead of guessing.

How does paying for Pro work?
€7.99 a month, or €79 a year which works out at €6.58 a month. Checkout is by Stripe, you can cancel any time from Settings, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. After that your account moves back to Free, and nothing is deleted.
Is Pinfolio really free?
Yes. The free plan tracks one broker with your whole portfolio, charts, price alerts and research, with no time limit and no credit card. Pro adds more brokers, unlimited AI and the Daily Briefing.
How long does it take to set up?
About two minutes. Sign in with eToro and your portfolio appears. Other brokers take an API key, or a sign-in on the broker's own page.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Pinfolio runs in the browser on your computer, tablet or phone. On an iPhone, add it to your Home Screen to get price alerts as push notifications (iOS 16.4 or later).
Which brokers work?
eToro, Interactive Brokers, Trading 212, Robinhood (US) and tastytrade connect directly. With Pro, 25+ more connect through SnapTrade, such as Schwab, Fidelity, DEGIRO, Coinbase and Kraken. Anything else can be imported from a CSV.
Is it worth it for a small portfolio?
Pinfolio works the same for any size of portfolio. Start on Free, and move to Pro only if you use more than one broker or want unlimited AI.
How does Pinfolio work with Claude?
Pinfolio is an MCP server, the standard way to plug an app into Claude. Add it as a custom connector in Claude, sign in with your Pinfolio account, and Claude can use your portfolio and Pinfolio's market, Congress and valuation data to answer you. Free accounts get the portfolio and market tools; Pro adds valuations and the S&P 500 scan.
